Building 1SE’s First Design System
As the first full-time designer at 1 Second Everyday, I developed a comprehensive Style Guide and Component Library, bringing together and standardizing all existing styles within the app.
Enhancing Accessibility and Consistency
Through in-depth analysis, I uncovered key issues in consistency and accessibility. Our primary audience—85% female, aged 25-34—needed an improved visual experience, prompting a redesign that increased contrast and legibility across the app.
Crafting a New Aesthetic: “Unimorphism”
With the freedom to create a fresh look from the ground up, I introduced “Unimorphism,” a unique spin on the popular Neumorphic style. This new aesthetic not only aligned with our users’ preferences but also added a modern, engaging look to the brand.
Collaborative Workshops and Buy-In
To ensure alignment and adoption, I led a workshop with marketing and leadership, securing buy-in on the new design system. This collaborative effort helped unify our approach and ensured that “Unimorphism” would resonate across all teams.
